My Library & My Church’s Library
Your Libraries
“My Library” is your own personal music library. Only you can add, edit, or delete works from this list. Only you will be able to find these works in a search, and only you will be able to put them into Plans. (Once placed in a Plan, anyone else at your church will of course see them in the Plan.) Works from My Library will be identified to others by your initials in the footer of the search result or Plan item, after “Listed In”; they will appear to you with a small book icon in this spot.
“My Church’s Library” is a list of music owned by your church. Anyone on your church’s Prelude account can add, edit, or delete works from this list. Any of them can find these works in a search, and any of them can put them into Plans. Works from My Church’s Library will be identified by a small church icon in the footer of the search result or Plan item, after “Listed In”.
These libraries are completely separate, but all of the tools are exactly the same, so all of the instructions below apply equally to either one.
Adding Single Works to your Library
You can add a new single work to either list by using the New Listing button on the right, or the large button (“Add music to this list”) at the bottom of your list. This will bring up an overlay where you can enter all the data you want about this work. Only Title and Type are required fields. See “Editing Works in your Libraries,” below, for much more about this.
Adding a List of Works to your Library
You can add an entire list of works by clicking on the “Download Template” button, filling out that form. The template you download includes instructions in the right-most columns – do pay attention to these! When you’ve filled out the form import it using the middle green button, “import CSV.”
Editing Works in your Libraries
You can edit any work by clicking on its Title (or by starting a New Listing). This will bring up the Details overlay panel, where you can edit all of that work’s data. (For any Prelude Library work you won’t be able to edit the data, but for any work from one of your Libraries, you will.)
All of the fields here are useful for searching in the Planner. Only Title and Type are required field.
Deleting Works from a Library
When your mouse is over any work you’ll see a dark blue “X” appear at the upper right of that work. This is the delete button. Click on that to permanently remove that work from this list. You’ll get a warning message when you click the X, which allows you to back out of this if you click it by mistake.
Exporting your Library lists
You can export a full list by clicking on the “Export CSV” button at the right, or the “Download List” button below that. This will provide you with a .csv file, which is easily openable in Excel, Numbers, or other common spreadsheet programs.
