Settings and Preferences
There are three very useful areas here that will make your Prelude Plans more informative:
- Services allows you to quickly note what regular worship service a given Plan is for.
- Musicians will especially help you to communicate with your musical groups about their music.
- Labels allow you to label each work in your Plan according to your church’s habits.

Services
“Services” are the regular (or even occasional — it’s up to you!) worship services that you hold at your church. Any Prelude Plan can be associated with a Service. On the Planner Page you can type in anything into the Service field for a Plan, but if you enter your regular Services here, Prelude will auto-complete the Service field on a Plan once you start typing. This will save you time when setting up a new Plan.
- Use the green “add service” button to add to your account’s list of Services.
- Use the pencil icon on any listed Service to edit that service. This will change that Service on any Plans where that Service was used – automatic updating!
- Use the trash can icon on any listed Service to delete that service. This will not remove anything from existing Plans, so don’t worry about that.
Musicians
Musicians are the different groups or individuals who play distinct roles in your music ministry. Any Musician from this list can be associated with any musical work in any Plan in Prelude. You can then generate lists of what music they’re assigned to perform, and when, right in the Planner. So this is a very cool and powerful tool for you!
Click on the blue “Musicians” header to open this panel. You can click it again to close it.
Just the same as for Services:
- Use the green “add musician” button to add to your account’s list of Musicians.
- Use the pencil icon on any listed Musician to edit that Musician. This will change that Musician on any Plans where that Musician was used – automatic updating!
- Use the trash can icon on any listed Musician to delete that Musician . This will remove them from existing Plans.
Labels
Different churches call different musical parts of worship by different names. Labels allows you to use the names you’re used to. By setting up Labels here you’ll be able to quickly select one (or more) for each musical work in your Plan. We’ve set up some Labels for your to start with, but you can edit or delete these at any time.
Click on the blue “Labels” header to open this panel. You can click it again to close it.
Again, this works just the same as for Services:
- Use the green “add label” button to add to your account’s list of Labels.
- Use the pencil icon on any listed Label to edit that Label. This will change that Label on any Plans where that Label was used – automatic updating!
- Use the trash can icon on any listed Label to delete that Label. This will remove them from existing Plans.
